Win a copy of Pocket Your Dollars by Carrie Rocha

My review on Amazon: “Carrie has written a wonderful book, sharing great ideas that people can act upon, and also bringing a personal level to it. She is speaking words of wisdom, having experienced many of the situations herself, and sharing what worked, and what didn’t when trying to overcome debt situations. Carrie is a very good communicator in person, and on television. She did the same through her book…she speaks to the reader. I highly recommend this book!”

It’s a new year and time for many of us to get a firm hold on our spending habits!  How many times have you asked yourselves “Where has all of our money gone?”  Do you have a budget you follow?  What excuses do you come up with to go off-budget?   Luckily, my friend Carrie Rocha has written a great new book to help!  She is graciously letting us give away a FREE copy of her new book, Pocket Your Dollars: 5 Attitude Changes That Will Help You Pay Down Debt, Avoid Financial Stress, & Keep More of What You Make :-)

Carrie and her husband paid down $60,000 in debt over 2.5 years. After getting out she and her husband figured out how they had gotten into debt in the first place and why they hadn’t changed their path sooner. In this book she teaches you to make the same attitude adjustments that transformed her family’s financial situation.

The book is 5-star rated on Amazon with 9 reviews so far; one of them is mine, please give it a Yes if it helped you :-) SheKnows.com says it is one of the 3 best self-improvement books for 2013. It’s already been featured on Forbes.com and US News & World Report Money.

Now’s your chance to win a copy of your very own!

Social Networking Done Right at Biz Bash New York

Over the past number of years I’ve attended a lot of events, for eBay and for PayPal.  Recently I attended my first ever event for Event Planners  – Biz Bash, in New York City.  I was brought to the event by PayPal, as one of their Ambassadors.  We talked with vendors and attendees about PayPal and the new PayPal Here mobile device.

Naturally I happily took note of all the Social Media use amongst the vendors.  My husband did a great job capturing many of them in photos, so we could share them with you, and give them a *shout out* for a job well done.

Starting even before the event, Biz Bash did a great job with using Social Media to promote their event, and keep people informed, including a hashtag.  They followed up by having this large scale sign greeting everyone at the entrances to the event.  It was evident they see the power of Social Media!

The most yummy booth was The Chocolate Swirl, with owner Lisa Bracigliano.  The Chocolate Swirl… [Read more...]

Raising Money for a NonProfit: Salvation Army North and Give to the Max Day

On Thursday, November 15 I was part of a Social Media Team at The Salvation Army North, for Give to the Max Day in Minnesota.  For two hours in the very early morning hours, we Facebooked, Tweeted, and emailed people in our efforts to raise donations for the day.  It was a success!  They had a significant increase from the funds raised the previous year.  It was also a success in that we reached people they might not have otherwise reached…all due to the power and possibilities of Social Media.

The Salvation Army North did a wonderful job with preparation for the morning’s event.  This began with a brilliant theme and logo to match – Bacon, Eggs and Hashtags!

The Nanny Nine: General Mills

I recently attended a local Social Media event, and sat in on Kevin Hunt’s presentation.  I’ve been a long time user of General Mills brands, and was very curious about their Social Media Manager, and how the brand was utilizing the various Social Media venues.  By the end of his presentation I was very happy with what I had seen and heard, and I also could tell Kevin is very passionate about what he does.
